Again, we don t get it.2 - Open processes produce quality results. Ask the trustees at Laramie County Community College whether they believe a closed process would have better served them in 2012 when they chose a replacement for Darrel Hammon. Their response: not only no, but heck no.Virtually every stakeholder group now believes that LCCC got the right person in President Joseph Schaffer. And this was a very open process: Finalists were announced, they met with instructors and they answered questions in public forums. True, the LCCC Board of Trustees held its interviews with the candidates behind closed doors we still object to that part of the process but there is no reason to think UW would not enjoy similar results by keeping its process open.Another example: When Cheyenne was hiring a police chief, it publicly announced the finalists.
